I’m having a problem with the FAQ element. Whether it is the FAQ style 2 page that is installed with the theme dummy data, or if I try to create a new page and place the FAQ element in it, in both cases it does not function correctly. All of the accordions are shown expanded, the tabs do not work, and the formatting does not look the same as on your demo site. I will send a link below.
Please deactivate all third party plugins temporarily. Update theme and it’s included plugins. Then try again. If the situation persists, let us know so we can check it again.
1-To find out the version number, go to Appearance > Themes. Hover over current theme and click on “Theme Details”. See screenshot: https://ibb.co/nLFc1LN
2-To update theme please follow these steps: http://thesimple.ellethemes.com/documentation/main.html#update_theme
Please update theme first, so we can exclude the cause of old theme version as reason for the bugs.
Then we can keep on testing it.
I have followed the instructions above and updated my theme to version 2.3.2 as well as updated all of the plugins (with the exception of layer slider which requires a license purchase in order to update, however I do not use layer slider anyway).
Both problems persist anyway, the FAQ still do not work, and my custom sidebar is still stacked underneath the regular sidebar.
Incidentally, whatever the issue is, I have the same problem on both sites of my multi site where I have FAQs element running
I have forwarded your ticket to the developer for a more professional review. We will get back to you asap.
Hello. It has been a week and I have not heard anything back. I have done some further testing and created a new blank site on my multi-site and installed nothing but the theme and the businesses simple template and dummy data. All plugins, including the ones that came with the theme, are deactivated except wpbakery itself. Yet still the FAQs do not work.
I received a notification this morning of a update to the theme, installed 2.3.2 in hopes that there would be a fix to the FAQs not functioning. Instead it appears the FAQ element has been completely deleted from WPbakery list of available elements. It’s just completely gone, it’s not even listed under the depreciated tab. Now my FAQ pages that were simply not displaying properly have instead reverted to a text block element with a single line of unsupported shortcode in it, and all the questions and answers have disappeared or have been deleted!! The FAQ element with its accordions inside of tabs feature was one of the reasons I bought this template in the 1st place, as I intended to use it to list more than just FAQs, such as schedules and pick up locations. I have tried to recreate it using just tabs and accordions, however the WPbakery tab element will not allow you to put an accordion inside of it, the FAQ element was the only way I had seen to do this. Is this the way they intend to leave it, just have everybody’s FAQ page deleted if they decide to update their theme?
correction to above, the update that removed the FAQ element is 2.3.32 months, 1 week ago WebVuDuParticipant
Accordions are insufficient, they do not have the same capability to be sorted by category tabs and therefore are much harder to find your question and answer with a much longer list to look through.
Also edits and additions to the FAQs must be done on the FAQ page itself rather than as a custom post type separately, meaning that if I allow others to add questions and answers they are always in danger of breaking the page by accidentally doing something wrong, where this danger doesn’t exist when they simply create a FAQ post separately.
Is it wpbakery themselves that no longer supports this elements, because it’s still is mentioned on their website. If I subscribe and update to the latest wpbakery would it be fixed? Or is this just never going to work again.2 months, 1 week ago MirelaKeymaster
please go to file includes/core/simple_elements/php and find this line:
Edit to this:
Save changes and re-add the faq element.

I assume you mean the folder ‘wp_includes’ at the start of that file location because I do not have a folder called just ‘includes’, but regardless, inside ‘wp_includes’ is no folder called ‘core’. I can not find any such folder, I do not understand the directions of which file to change.
