I have got your above email for update the theme (The Simple) but I did have not saw the update notification in wp-admin or in WordPress dashboard kindly, please let know your valuable reply on it.

If you got the update email, that means there is a new update launched. This is send out from authors as soon as they upload the update. The wordpress installation uses cached version of theme (for faster response). SO it may need some time to get refreshed and detect the change in theme version number.

ok, no problem so can you please tell how to update the theme without using wp -admin or dashboard.

If you have a child theme you have first to make a backup into the Simple > Import/Export and save a backup.
After that download the theme the-simple folder from themeforest.net and replace with the new the-simple(folder the parent theme).
The replacement can be made through ftp.

You can change the portfolio slug as many times as you want. There is no limit. Reset permalinks if you change the slug so the portfolio items URL are all changed faster.
