when there is a lot of pictures in a portfolio, it takes quite some time to display because all the pics are loaded before beeing displayed.
Is there a way to accelerate the display ?
I can suggest you to upload smaller images or use a caching plugin to increase the site’s loading time. This article can help:
Images are already optimized for 1200px/72dpi pictures. And the website is arleady using a cache system.
Only some ajax process can solve this otherwise all pictures from the portfolio have to be downloaded before beeing displayed, so i suppose it’s not an ajax compatible theme.
Can you please send us a link of your portfolio page? So we can give it a closer look.

I thought the media grid would generate it’s own thumbnails but in fact no ! So that’s a lot to load…
The gallery inside the project description text is generated using a third party plugin. The Responsive Lightbox plugin.
Sorry but we do not offer support on third party plugins.
-You can add a gallery of images in a portfolio item by setting it as a gallery post. See this demo: http://onero.ellethemes.com/?portfolio=image-gallery
Yes, Responsive Lightbox, i installed it this morning and it’s working fine now. I can handle pagination inside the galleries and the thumbnails loaded are really thumbnails, not as with wpbakery grid modules.
I had to deactivate ‘smooth page transition’ in the theme params to have lightbox efficient.
I understand you don’t provide support for third party plugins and that’s normal, but anyway website is ok now, at least regarding this post subject.
Glad to know that!
And thank you for sharing your solution with the community.
