I’m translation my site using WPML but ran into an issue
The Project Details, custom fields parameters are the issue.
The fields description is translatable, but the parameter itself isn’t.
Values were created in the theme options. Got about 8 parameters.
How do I translate these titles?
I tried via admin screen in the string translation interface.
Selected these 8 params, went back to string translation and this doesn’t create the strings.
What do I do?
You need to translate the description titles in each language profile. Select the language you want to translate them, then go to General Options > Portfolio Config > Custom fields Parameters

Unfortunately, when going from NL to EN, then changing a term, it changes for EN and NL.
So this solution does not seem to work.
Any other suggestions?
Sorry can you please be more clear? What changes did you do and what were the exact output? We tested this and it does translate the custom fields titles as it should.
Let us know.
I went to the backend (main language DUTCH).
Switched to ENGLISH, went to simple options > portfolio config.
I changed the fields to the ENGLISH value.
Went to front end in ENGLISH, the terms were ENGLISH.
Going to DUTCH frontend displays terms in ENGLISH as well.
Is it possible that there’s an option in WPML that needs to be activated so these terms can be translated?
Also tried through string translation > admin texts, selecting custom params and adding them as strings, see photo
Unfortunately, these terms don’t appear in string translation after adding them

Sorry for the late reply.
You are right, the custom fields do not translate with WPML. The plugin does not have any option for them. And since the custom field titles are called in loop from the database, it is not possible to hard-core translate them.
I have forwarded the issue to the developers and we are working on a solution for this with the support of WPML dev team. We will try to include a fix by the next theme update.
We kindly ask for your patience until then.

That’s a shame since the theme was advertised as WPML ready.
Also second issue I have, also issue with lazy load options in portfolio filter that’s still unresolved.
I kindly ask you to notify me when the fix has been implemented.
